What is a Bicycle wheel rim?
Bicycle wheel rims are the hoop-shape that sit around your wheels and hold in place the tyre and tube. Along with bike hubs, spokes and bicycle tyres, bike rims are fundamental wheel parts. As is the case with tyres, you can select different bicycle wheel rim sizes, types and widths, all of which are influenced by your riding style (and, of course, whether you’re an adult or child). Bicycle wheel rims are made from either carbon or aluminium, each with its own pros and cons. Regardless, you’ll only ever find top-quality, reliable parts on BikeChain. How to measure bicycle rim size
Simply grab your measuring tape and place it at the wheel’s centre. Next, measure up to the tyre's inner edge, aiming to get as close to the bead set as possible. If you need measurements in millimetres, but you only have an imperial system tape, just multiply the inches by 25.4.
How to clean mtb rims
The good news is it's a pretty low-maintenance process to clean road bike or MTB rims. You’ll find many great Morgan Blue bike cleaning products here on BikeChain. Just apply your preferred cleaner to the rim, grab an old toothbrush and give it a good scrub with the soft bristles. The toothbrush does a great job getting into awkward grooves and spaces (thanks to the spokes and nipples).
Be sure to release any grime, especially around the braking surface. Then, using a separate wet rag, go over the bike wheel rims with a wiping motion. This should collect any soapy residue and remaining stubborn bits of dirt and dust.
